Cushion foundations should pretty much only be pat on, not swiped because it’s a sponge. I think you wouldn’t have had to do a second layer if it was applied that way from the beginning. Also wish you had read the instructions because the cushion applicator has two sides that will give a different finish. Thanks! <3

Thats not how you apply cushion foundation, you should tap it on your face. watch korean tutorials on how they apply cushion foundations.. ugh!
The sponge has two sides. (Look at the sticker on the mirror) The first side is for a natural look and you apply it with swiping motions. The other side provides more coverage, especially when padding the product in instead of swiping. 🙂 so you can build it from very sheer and natural to a good medium/ full coverage :))) I seriously love this foundation. Especially in summer, I feel like it also has a kind of cooling effect to the skin. Feels very nice 👍🏽 it's also water resistent, not full waterproof though and you can really do nice touch ups with it

You noticed and changed your application method the second time, but I've found it's always best to tap your cushion foundation in from the beginning because it looks better with this method and it's much less patchy! Anytime you use those little cushion applicators, patting is always better than rubbing because of their weird rubbery texture haha
Of topic but have you considered coloring your hair like a rose gold or something. I just feel like the color you have now makes you look bald sometimes idk lol I just think a little bit of color would look real good against your son tone.
