I think it just works differently with different skin types 🙂
I have combination skin, and it blurs away all my pores effortlessly (i dont swipe the foundation on though).
The redness does come back after a day of uni (approx. 5-6 hours) but the foundation doesn't move around and I hardly ever need to apply powder.
I'm also from Australia, so even in hot days the foundation manages to stay on during a normal college day :)) xxx

I think it's better for very dry or mature skin. I've tried it on my dry to combination skin I had no trouble with oil.
I think the ysl fushion ink cushion may be better for you, it's not oily
which lipstick did you use?
Try some Argan oil. It chills out oil overproduction.
