Hi. I just received this new 20mm 1.8. Testing in AP mode the image jumps in and out quite wildly when on continuous focus. Is this normal? It doesn't appear to do it in auto, but I don't want to use auto! Just wondered if you knew what this is and if it's possible to avoid it.

Ted, I've just bought this lens and have a quick question… when not mounted to the camera or camera is off if you turn the lens up and down you can feel what I think is the autofocus motor moving, is that a normal characteristic of the new linear motor? Once the camera is switched on it no longer happens, presumably because the camera has engaged the focus motor?
Fantastic video and review. The pictures that showed the sharpness helped me very much to decide for the right lens.
I love the nerdy details. But now I want to see the find edges with a Sigma 20mm f/1.4 (same price but crazy heavy with a 11" minimum focus). And I want a 12-bay Synology NAS.

A general consensus is this is the 24 is absolutely fabulous for astro, however Dustin Abbott experienced some coma, could he have just had a bad copy?

I have a zoom (24-70), but always seem to use the standard focal distances, 24, 35, 50, 70
I am looking at getting primes, but the 24 to 35mm is not much of a difference to me.
So, I'm thinking of getting the 20 instead of the 24. If there was a wider lens like that 18 batis, Id get it plus the 24, but this is the widest there is and is basically middle ground focal length.
Think it would be good to get this instead of a 24?

Great review, I just received mine and i noticed that when I don’t have the lens on my camera, i could feel play inside the lens. When i connect it to the camera it goes away. It feels like something is loose. Is that normal with this lens?
I hope you will check focus breathing. For landscape photographers who frequently focus stack, substantial focus breathing can make the lens unusable for focus stacking.
