I think with covid restrictions it might be useful to use one a month, I have had two cleanings cancelled because of covid so I might use this rarely though. And I’ve had 3 implants recently so I would be careful using it.

Just like you, I had a cleaning yesterday and asked my hygienist if it's safe to use… She recommended to stay away.
The vibrations/movement of the top is not gentle enough to use and can cause damages to your teeth in the long-run
no need to use it if you've been to the dentist int the last week, I imagine! Isn't it to help chip away plaque that's built up over the months?

Normally I would not buy but these aren't normal times we're living in. I was due for my cleaning right when all this started so now I'm about 10 months since my last dental cleaning. Is this OK for that problem area?

Try the Access flossed, it gets to the posterior teeth much better. Water and hydrogen peroxide rinses are really helpful as well and to do a better job on the permanent retainer try Soft Picks, originals work well on anterior teeth. soft Picks advanced are much more universal.
I bought it yesterday and believe me it's nothing but waste of money ,useless .better save money for the dentist

This is an awesome little tool, after 3-4 weeks of using it a couple of times per week, I've had 2 smallish chunks of tartar fall away from 2 teeth.

Hey guys, I'm in the Dental Hygiene program and am doing research on this particular product. All I can tell you for right now is that it is okay to use, however, If you have calculus on the roots of your teeth, that product will not be able to take it off. Point is, don't waste your money and just get your teeth cleaned twice a year with your hygienist.
Is the "sonic pic" and "electric calculus remover" the same thing?

i think such products are actually the opposite of helpful.
there's always a certain amount of calculus underneath the gumline, wich will lead to periodontitis if left untreated.
you are not able to clean underneath the gumline on your own and if you clean your teeth surfaces with such a device, the hygienist might think the tooth is fine and won't check below the gum.
Only the first 3mm from the tip is effective. You have to touch the lateral side of the tip to where the plaque is. Don't touch the tip point directly to your teeth surface that will develop pits and in time it will becomes hole. Don't have the instrument contact your teeth surface for too long, because of the fast speed (vibration per min) this will generate heat and that might damage your teeth and you will need a root canal. Your touching motion is almost like a tapping of the 3mm lateral side of the tip of the instrument to the surface of your teeth where the plaque is. If you keep it moving slow and smoothly then you don't have to worry about your teeth gets damaged by the heat. Well, there is a video on here to show you the technique of how to use an ultrasonic scaler correctly so you don't hurt yourself/ teeth.
Buy some gauze 2×2 have it nearby so you could wipe off the harden plaque that will dislodge from your teeth.
This instrument is the only affordable option for the many of us that couldn't afford a dentist office cleaning. I am glad this is on the market, but please research and watch the correct technique how to position the first 3mm lateral side of the tip of the scaler and the how to motion of the scaler. Twice a year at the dentist is enough, dont want put up with the weird feeling everyday i:ll stick to string flossing. I'd take it for free to use on cleaning gunk out of a small engine carburetor! lol Great Job as always Keep it up i watch all your stuff'
