The 188 is a little bit smaller and works great with foundation

This brush is for powders or pigments – Not good for liquids because natural bristle hair is 10 to soak up where as synthetic fibers hairs do not absorb the product so this is definitely intended for powders or pigments
You shouldn't blend the foundation with it thought. You should tap with the top.

Great tips. I think that May have been my first mac brush too. I'm definitely a huge fan of duo fibre brushes. The 138 is nicer for foundation because it buffs better with shorter white bristles.

Thanks for the other tips! I use mine for blush, blending, and I have used it for foundation as well! I like it, it does look streaky at first, if you use too much product, but blending and buffing soon eliminates that issue. I think foundation looks more natural with that brush… I only recommend it for little to medium coverage

I ruined my 187 many years ago, it is a very akward story and Ii do not want to share it! I give you a tiny clue, I burned the bristles after cleansing…that was before youtube and many brush cleansing videos.
